ARLINGTON, Texas — Paige Bueckers said her UConn team approved “The Dynasty: UConn Huskies” before it was made. She has since watched it.
Apple TV premiered the three-part docuseries globally on Friday. Three days later, Bueckers scored 32 points in a 92-70 Dallas Wings win over the Seattle Storm at College Park Center.
What Paige Bueckers Said About the UConn Documentary
The series traces 40 years of the UConn program under Geno Auriemma. The last of the three episodes covers the 2024-25 season and the school’s 12th national championship. Matthew Hamachek and Erica Sashin directed it. Skydance Sports produced it for Apple TV.
Bueckers was at UConn from 2020 to 2025 and beat South Carolina in the national championship game that April. Injuries cost her large parts of four seasons before it.
“I got to watch it. We approved it and stuff like that, so I got to obviously, like you said, I lived it and was a part of it, but to have it on film, to have it kind of be documented,” Bueckers said. “For me it was like I wanted other people to see it’s not always beautiful. Like, we won the national championship at the end. But the adversity, the hard times, the days where you don’t want to show up to work anymore, like that’s real. And so to be human, to embrace that and to really just fight through adversity, I feel like that’s what life’s all about and how it took a village. Like, it wasn’t just me. There were so many people and so many teammates and coaches and strength and conditioning staff, my doctors who helped me recover from my injuries. Like, it really takes a village and to have a great faith, a great determination, to have great people around you. I think that’s what it was all about.”
Paige Bueckers Against the Seattle Storm
Against Seattle, she shot 12-of-16 for 32 points, 6 of them from 3-point range on 6 attempts. That tied the WNBA record for 3-pointers made in a game without a miss. She had 18 by the end of the first quarter and sat the fourth.
Bueckers is averaging 20.3 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.1 rebounds. She has started all 35 games she has played.
Dallas took her first overall in the 2025 draft. She won Rookie of the Year. That August she scored 44 points against Los Angeles, a WNBA rookie record.
Where the Dallas Wings Sit
Sunday was Dallas’s 22nd win of the season, matching the most the franchise has won in a year since it relocated to North Texas ahead of 2016. The Wings are 22-16 with six games left.
Azzi Fudd was on that UConn championship team and is now in the Dallas locker room. She will miss the rest of the season with a right knee injury. Fudd went first overall in the 2026 draft. She averaged 13.1 points in 30 games before being ruled out.
Dallas clinches its first postseason berth since 2023 with a win against the Portland Fire on Tuesday. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. CT at College Park Center, on KFAA 29 and NBA TV.
