Dallas Wings Guard Azzi Fudd Named To 2026 WNBA All-Rookie Team

ARLINGTON, Texas — The WNBA named Dallas Wings guard Azzi Fudd to its 2026 All-Rookie Team on Wednesday. The Associated Press put her on its All-Rookie Team in September. Fudd went first overall in April’s WNBA Draft and played 30 regular-season games before arthroscopic surgery on her right knee ended her season in August.

Six players made the league’s team. Minnesota Lynx guard Olivia Miles, the unanimous Rookie of the Year and the second overall pick, was named alongside Fudd. Seattle Storm guard Flau’jae Johnson, New York Liberty guard Pauline Astier, Toronto Tempo guard Kiki Rice, and Chicago Sky guard Sydney Taylor completed the team. The same six rookies made up the AP team last month.

In 30 games, 24 of them starts, Fudd averaged 13.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. She shot 45.6% from the field and 39.7% from three-point range.

Fudd led all rookies in steals per game. She also led the class with 2.1 made three-pointers per game. Her blocks average ranked second among first-year players. In three-point percentage, she was third. Her scoring average ranked fifth.

Azzi Fudd Set Wings Rookie Records In 30 Games

At All-Star Weekend in July, Fudd became the first rookie in league history to win the WNBA 3-Point Contest, taking the title at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. She was also the first Wings player to win it. Her 30 points in the final round were the second-highest finale score in contest history. She made 20-of-26 shots in that round, including eight of her last 10.

Fudd set Wings rookie single-season records for steals per game, three-pointers made per game, and total three-pointers, with 62. She also set or tied the franchise’s rookie single-game marks for minutes played (42:44), steals (5), and three-pointers made (6). The six three-pointers came May 24 at New York.

Among Wings rookies, Fudd’s 393 points rank fourth. Her scoring average and her 45.6% shooting from the field rank fourth on the same list. Her 52 steals and 25 blocks both rank second, as does her three-point percentage. Her 55 assists rank tenth.

This season, Fudd was one of four rookies with a four-block game. She was one of three with a five-steal game, and one of three with six combined steals and blocks in a game. She reached 20 career blocks in her 20th game, the fastest any guard in WNBA history has gotten there.

Azzi Fudd Joins Paige Bueckers On Wings’ All-Rookie List

Fudd is the ninth player in Wings history named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team. Paige Bueckers, the 2025 Rookie of the Year, made it last season. Charli Collier made it in 2021, Satou Sabally in 2020, Arike Ogunbowale in 2019, and Azurá Stevens in 2018. Kaela Davis and Allisha Gray both made it in 2017, and Aerial Powers made it in 2016.

In early August, knee soreness kept Fudd out of the Wings’ game against the Washington Mystics. She returned to practice Aug. 11 but did not play again. On Aug. 18, the Wings announced she would undergo arthroscopic surgery on the knee. Dallas was 19-11 with Fudd in the lineup and 1-5 without her at the time of the announcement.

Dallas reached the playoffs without her and lost its best-of-three first-round series to the Golden State Valkyries. The Valkyries won Game 3, 77-73, on Oct. 2 at Chase Center in San Francisco. Ogunbowale scored 30 points in the loss.
