ARLINGTON, Texas — Paige Bueckers tries not to be an outcome-oriented person, and she said winning makes that hard.
The Dallas Wings beat the Seattle Storm 92-70 on Sunday for their 22nd win, matching the most the franchise has won in a season since it relocated to North Texas ahead of 2016. Bueckers scored 32 points and went 6-of-6 from 3-point range, and she sat the entire fourth quarter.

Bueckers has said she wants Dallas taking the same approach to every game regardless of what is at stake in it. Her answer on Sunday went to what a win does to a locker room and what she tries not to let a loss do.
“It’s so tough because I try not to be like an outcome-oriented person, but winning just makes me so happy,” Bueckers said. “And obviously it makes everyone around us happy, and losing freaking sucks. And I hate losing. But I just try to have unconditional gratitude and to stay even keeled and never get too high or too low and never think we’re going on a losing streak. Never panic. Just continue to show up to work the same way that we did. But make it have or have it make us even stronger and come together even tighter. And don’t let it shake us, shake our belief in the locker room. But obviously winning feels great. But at the same time, you don’t want to get complacent with it and think this win is going to carry us into the next. So we really just try to take it game by game and never get too high or never get too low.”
How the Dallas Wings Got to 22
Dallas finished 10-34 last season and 9-31 the year before that. The Wings fired Chris Koclanes on Sept. 30, 2025, and hired José Fernández on Oct. 28. The last Dallas team to reach the postseason went 22-18 in 2023 and lost the semifinals in three games to Las Vegas.
The last month has not been a straight line. Dallas lost at Washington on Aug. 5, at home to Golden State on Aug. 7, and at Minnesota on Aug. 9, beat Toronto 94-88 on Aug. 12, then lost at Indiana on Aug. 14 and at Golden State on Aug. 17. Five losses in six games. The Wings then beat Indiana 91-85 on Aug. 20 and Seattle on Sunday.
Bueckers is averaging 20.3 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.1 rebounds across 35 starts this season, shooting 49.9% from the field and 37.3% from 3-point range.
Sunday was not close after the opening 10 minutes. Dallas took the first quarter 34-17, led by 35 in the second, and never trailed. Jessica Shepard had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Seattle fell to 7-31 and has now lost 14 of its last 15.
The Season Series and What Is Left
Dallas is 3-0 against Seattle and has clinched the series, its eighth series win of the year. The Wings won 79-56 in Arlington on June 1 and 112-110 in Seattle on June 22. The teams meet a fourth time on Sept. 23 in Seattle.
Six games remain. A win over the Portland Fire on Tuesday clinches the Wings’ first postseason berth since 2023, with tip-off at 7 p.m. CT at College Park Center on KFAA 29 and NBA TV. Dallas then hosts the Connecticut Sun on Aug. 30 and does not play again until Sept. 17.
