FRISCO, Texas — CeeDee Lamb said Klayton Adams has the Dallas Cowboys offense bought in heading into the second season under the coordinator.
Lamb met with reporters at The Star on Monday and was asked how Adams has taken a step forward in his second year and taken on more of a voice in the changes the offense made.
“I’m excited for him. Everything, his ability to control the room is very, it’s noteworthy, you know what I’m saying?” Lamb said. “I mean, when he’s up there talking about the offense and things that you want to get done and accomplish together as a unit, I feel like everybody’s bought in.”
“Everybody buy into everything that he’s talking about. We believe him. And the proof is in the pudding,” Lamb continued. “He’s changed his run game in a year, and I know he wants to get better just like all of us on the offensive side of the ball.”
Dallas hired Adams from the Arizona Cardinals in January of last year. Javonte Williams ran 252 times for 1,201 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2025 and caught 35 passes for 137 yards and 2 scores.
Williams and Malik Davis are the only true running backs on the 53-man roster, with Hunter Luepke listed at fullback. Dallas claimed Emari Demercado off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday.

Lamb and George Pickens both cleared 1,000 receiving yards last season. Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin, Jonathan Mingo, and undrafted rookie Camden Brown filled out the six receivers Dallas kept on the initial 53.
“It’s good to see all my boys get in love because what we see every day is amazing,” Lamb explained. “Everybody in the room compete. Everybody strive to better. We learn from one another.”
“Winning is contagious and you want to win every rep. You want to win every route,” Lamb said. “And then when we get into meetings and we watch, we ask each other like what you was thinking on this release, like how, like what made you comfortable enough to select this one, win, lose or draw though. So like just us being able to learn from each other, I find that very intriguing.”
Brown caught a 39-yard touchdown from Sam Howell in the preseason opener at Seattle and finished the summer as the only member of this year’s undrafted class to make the roster.
Two Weeks From MetLife Stadium
Dallas returned to Frisco from Oxnard, Calif., in late August and set its roster Sunday.
“It’s real now. Everything that we’ve been preparing up to this point to get here, it’s very exciting,” Lamb said. “I feel like everybody in the locker room is very excited. So myself, just grinding, man. We gotta continue to put these things together.”
“And then we finally get the opportunity to go out there and show the world what we can do together,” Lamb continued. “And, again, we got a new journey. And we’re looking forward to it.”
Dallas has 13 days until the opener at the New York Giants on Sept. 13. Kickoff at MetLife Stadium is at 7:20 p.m. CT on NBC.
