FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys starting offensive line has spent training camp working against Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark. Center Cooper Beebe said Tuesday at The Star that the daily back and forth is solidifying the interior of his line.
Beebe said the game is all about momentum and that carrying a winning feeling into Week 1 would be huge for Dallas.
“It’s just a great challenge day in, day out. There’s definitely a lot of back and forth. They win some, we win some. But like you said, iron sharpens iron,” Beebe said. “It’s just solidifying that interior of our line. So it’s been good work. You learn from it. Every time you lose, you learn from it. You get with those dudes, kind of see what they were seeing. But it’s just great work.”
How The Dallas Cowboys Assembled The Interior
Dallas acquired Clark from the Green Bay Packers in the Micah Parsons trade a week before the 2025 season, along with first-round picks in 2026 and 2027. Clark is entering his 11th season and is under contract through 2027.
Williams arrived at the trade deadline last November. Dallas sent the New York Jets a 2026 second-round pick, the better of the Cowboys’ and Packers’ 2027 first-round picks, and defensive tackle Mazi Smith. The Cowboys signed Williams to an extension this month.
The room turned over again in April. Dallas traded Osa Odighizuwa to the San Francisco 49ers and Solomon Thomas within an hour of each other, then signed Otito Ogbonnia and Jonathan Bullard. Jay Toia is the only holdover from last season’s defensive tackle group. Aaron Whitecotton coaches the defensive line.
What The Group Did Late Last Season
Dallas allowed the third-lowest rushing total in the NFL from the trade deadline through the end of last season after ranking in the bottom five to start the year. The Cowboys were the second-worst scoring defense in the league through nine games at 30.8 points allowed per game.
Dallas ran 34 times for 175 yards in the 34-13 win at Arizona on Saturday night. Beebe is in his third season and has played 27 career games. Tyler Booker starts at right guard and Tyler Smith has worked at left guard on either side of him.
What Is Left Before Dallas Cowboys Cuts
Wednesday brings one more open practice at The Star. Dallas hosts the New Orleans Saints on Friday at 7 p.m. CT on CBS to close the preseason.
The roster has to be down to 53 by 5 p.m. CT Sunday, with waiver claims due at noon the following day.
