Dallas Mavericks List 10 Players On Injury Report vs. San Antonio Spurs, Including Kyrie Irving And Cooper Flagg

DALLAS — Four players who played Friday at Indiana are questionable for the Dallas Mavericks’ home opener Saturday night against the San Antonio Spurs: Kyrie Irving (left knee injury management), Max Christie (right shin contusion), Zaccharie Risacher (right hip soreness), and Morez Johnson Jr. (right shin splints).
Jett Howard is doubtful with right calf tightness and soreness. Cooper Flagg (left shoulder sprain), Santi Aldama (right knee surgery), Tarik Biberović (right heel bursitis), Dereck Lively II (right foot surgery), and Caleb Martin (right thumb sprain) are out.
Saturday is the second night of a back-to-back, with tip-off set for 7 p.m. CT at American Airlines Center. Before Friday’s game, Mavericks coach Dusty May said the staff is being careful with injuries this early in the season, starting with Martin’s thumb.
“I didn’t see the play that he sprained it. Yeah, I’ve seen the same thing. Being very, very cautious with our guys this early in the season,” May said. “But yeah, I anticipate he’ll be back in the near future as well.”
Kyrie Irving Leads The Dallas Mavericks’ Questionable Players
Irving scored 24 points in 24:55 in Friday’s 121-105 win at Indiana, playing on the minutes restriction May confirmed before the game. He tore his left ACL in March 2025, and Friday was his second game back.
Christie played a team-high 37:52 Friday and finished with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Risacher had 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks in 31:46 off the bench.
Johnson, the ninth overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, had 8 points and 6 rebounds in 16:49 Friday. Dallas outscored Indiana by 21 points with the rookie on the floor.
Cooper Flagg Headlines The Mavericks’ Out List
Flagg was ruled out earlier Saturday after an MRI revealed a mild left shoulder sprain. He was hurt on Aaron Nesmith’s flagrant foul late in the first half Friday, and the Mavericks will re-evaluate him next week.
Howard also missed Friday’s game with the same calf issue. Aldama sat out Friday after right knee surgery, and May said before that game that Aldama is working his way back.
“We’re just continuing the [rehab] process to get him back on the court. He feels better each and every day,” May explained. “We’re excited to have him, hopefully in the near future.”
The Mavericks play at the Miami Heat on Monday.
