‘Everything Is In Front Of Us’: Kenny Clark Wants Dallas Cowboys Turnaround To Start At Philadelphia After First Sack Of 2026

FRISCO, Texas — Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Kenny Clark said Tuesday that the Cowboys’ turnaround has to start Monday night with a division win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dallas and Philadelphia are both 2-4. The Eagles lost 25-14 at home to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday for their fourth straight loss, the same day the Cowboys fell 23-13 to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Dallas cannot count on the rest of the division losing every week, according to Clark.
“We lost and we’re seeing everybody else lose. Yeah, it’s just, I mean, everything is in front of us,” Clark said. “Everything is in front of us, but we still got to be urgent and not expect that to happen every week. So yeah, I mean, we got to get our stuff together, get on a roll, but it all start with a division win against the Eagles.”
Clark spent his first nine seasons in Green Bay, which drafted him 27th overall in 2016 out of UCLA. He made three Pro Bowls with the Packers before they traded him to Dallas with two first-round picks for Micah Parsons in August 2025. He is one of the Cowboys’ four team captains.
Six games in, the record surprised Clark. He said the Cowboys put it on tape themselves.
“It’s definitely surprising. You never go into a season expecting yourself to be 2-4,” Clark explained. “So, but it is what it is. I mean, we put that on tape. So, I mean, all we can do now moving forward is just worry about today and improving.”
Kenny Clark Sacks Jordan Love In First Game Back At Lambeau Field
Clark and outside linebacker Rashan Gary played at Lambeau Field as visitors for the first time Sunday night. Gary spent seven seasons with Green Bay before a March trade to Dallas, and the two were teammates for six of them.
Clark called the Lambeau environment great, even in a loss.
“It was awesome, the environment was great,” Clark said. “I wish we came out and got the dub, but as far as just the environment and everything, it was good.”
With Green Bay ahead 20-7 in the third quarter, Clark sacked Jordan Love for a 10-yard loss on third-and-2 and forced the Packers to punt from their own end zone. It was his first sack of the season, and he finished with 3 tackles.
The sack came on a move the defensive line had worked on all week, according to Clark.
“I got one-on-one with the center and just hit him a quick swing move,” Clark said. “It’s just something that we’ve been working on all week, and just excited to build off of that.”
Clark had 12 tackles and no sacks through the first five games, according to the team’s statistics.
“You get that weight off your back, now it’s just about building,” Clark said.
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Monday that Clark and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams stood out on film. Williams also had a sack and 2 tackles for loss, and Dallas sacked Love 3 times.
“I thought really Quinnen and Kenny Clark were excellent for us. They were very disruptive, really good push. Both had sacks. They kind of frustrated Jordan some in the pocket,” Schottenheimer said. “I thought both corners outside, Bland and Joey, played really, really well, good tight coverage, and I thought Shemar James was playing really well. And then, of course, Dee Winters was playing maybe his best game for us until he got hurt.”
“But the interception was incredible. He had a coverage on a double move that they tried to get him on that he was in perfect phase. And I thought that was something that was really, really good,” Schottenheimer continued. “And it jumped off the film this morning watching the defensive stuff.”
Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. was targeted four times without allowing a catch, and DaRon Bland allowed 2 catches for 25 yards with 2 pass breakups, according to DallasCowboys.com.
Clark On Third Downs And Urgency Against The Philadelphia Eagles
Green Bay converted 9 of its 10 first-half third downs and led 17-0 at halftime. The Packers ran 26 times for 57 yards. Dallas entered the game allowing 168.4 rushing yards per game, the most in the NFL.
The better stretch after halftime started with the run defense, as Clark saw it, and the third downs are what still has to change.
“Just everything that we talked about throughout the whole week, just playing with our play style, being able to set edges, [knock them] back in the run game,” Clark said. “I think it all started right there with the run game, stopping that, getting them in longer passing situations. And then it’s all about getting them off the field on third down.”
“Wasn’t good enough on third down. Got to be better situationally there,” Clark continued. “But it all started with the run game.”
The Cowboys had 10 days to prepare for Green Bay after a 24-16 home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 8. During that stretch, Dallas brought in Mike Pettine as a senior defensive assistant. Pettine was the Packers’ defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2020, overlapping with Clark for three seasons.
Clark would not frame the defense as angry. He said the group took the week of preparation to heart and has to carry it into another one.
“The angry or whatever, I mean, we just want to compete. We just want to compete. Just get better every day,” Clark said. “Like I said, I feel like it was a good week of preparation. I think guys really took to heart everything that we’ve been talking about. And we’ve got to build off of it this week.”
“It don’t mean nothing unless we just keep building off of it,” Clark added. “So we want to be urgent in our preparation and getting better so we can get this fixed in a hurry.”
Dallas plays at Philadelphia on Monday, Oct. 26, at Lincoln Financial Field. Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m. CT on ESPN and ABC.
