FRISCO, Texas —FC Dallas moved up one spot to No. 10 in the MLSsoccer.com Power Rankings published Monday, one day after a stoppage-time equalizer at St. Louis CITY SC rescued a 3-3 draw.
Roughly 15 people associated with MLSsoccer.com vote on the poll, and J. Sam Jones writes the weekly update. Dallas placed 11th in the previous edition, which ran after Matchday 22 and a 5-0 loss at Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Jones pointed to the late goals from Sebastien Ibeagha and Logan Farrington, which kept Dallas one spot ahead of St. Louis in the Western Conference. He wrote that the three-point swing could carry weight in the race for a home playoff spot.
Nashville SC held the top spot for a second straight week. Vancouver ranked second and Inter Miami CF ranked third. Houston Dynamo FC ranked fifth. Austin FC ranked 28th.
FC Dallas In the Western Conference Race
Dallas is 9-6-7 with 34 points through 22 matches, fifth in the Western Conference. St. Louis and the San Jose Earthquakes also sit on 34 points.
Sunday night closed a 12-game road trip across all competitions, a stretch the club listed at 6-3-3. Dallas logged more than 15,000 miles across three countries during the run. In MLS play, Dallas is 6-4-3 away from home this season. Its six road wins tie San Jose for the second-most in the league. Inter Miami leads with eight.
Dallas plays eight of its remaining 12 matches at Toyota Stadium.
Petar Musa and the Golden Boot Race
Petar Musa did not score at Energizer Park. He set up Farrington’s equalizer for his third assist of the season.
Musa has 16 goals and sits second in the Golden Boot presented by Audi race. Lionel Messi leads with 18 after scoring four times in a 7-1 win over CF Montréal on Saturday. Musa scored 18 league goals in 2025 and 16 in 2024, and he took the Golden Boot lead on Aug. 15 with a goal against Austin.
Eric Quill and Shaq Moore On the Road Trip
FC Dallas coach Eric Quill met with reporters at Energizer Park after the final whistle.
“I’m going to get on the airplane and let it soak in,” Quill said. “We’ve all been looking forward to getting through this stretch. We had goals for ourselves, and we met them. Now it’s about maximizing this experience at home and making sure we take care of home-field advantage and don’t squander points.”
“We’ve got to have a really good mindset about ourselves,” Quill continued. “Going home doesn’t guarantee you wins, so we’ve got to execute and have a proper game plan. Again, we control our destiny in a lot of ways, and we need to make sure we keep our foot on the gas pedal.”
Shaq Moore scored in the 18th minute for his first goal of the season, becoming the club’s 13th different goal scorer this year. The vice captain leads Dallas in distance covered at 31 miles, games started with 20, and minutes played with 1,836. Moore joined the club in December 2024 and has 54 appearances, four goals, and four assists.
Moore addressed the road stretch after the match.
“It’s been a tough stretch. Obviously, a lot of games on the road is never easy, but I’m super proud of the guys,” Moore said. “We made it out alive. Like I was telling the guys, we could have easily given in with all the games on the road, which in this league is never easy. But we dug deep and got some important wins. We had a few bumps in the road and a few losses as well, but that’s football. I think the most important thing is that we made it out alive. We’re in the top half of the Western Conference standings, and now we can look forward to the next stretch.”
Ibeagha headed in a corner kick in the 81st minute for his first goal of the season, making him the club’s 14th different goal scorer this year. It was Dallas’ third corner kick goal of the season. Joaquín Valiente supplied the assist, his team-leading ninth. It was also the first match this season in which two Dallas defenders scored.
Farrington came off the bench and scored in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time. He had not scored since a 2-1 win at the Colorado Rapids on May 23.
“I was hoping just to get one chance, one close chance on goal, and I saw a ball come to Musa,” Farrington said. “As the strikers run, you run diagonal across the box, and he knew where to find me, put a good ball where I could just hit it first time, and all I had to do is just get enough power to get it past the goalie.”
“We’re ecstatic to go back home. See our fans and see our families,” Farrington explained. “We’ve been on the road for what feels like all year right now, but we’re super excited to be back home, sleep in our own beds, and get ready for the next game at home in front of our fans.”
Dallas hosts Sporting Kansas City on Saturday in its first match at Toyota Stadium since May. The new East Side, part of a transformation of the stadium the club valued at more than $200 million, opens to fans that night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, and the match streams on Apple TV. Sporting Kansas City ranked 30th in Monday’s poll.
