FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas acquired Nigerian winger Daniel Job from Norwegian second-division side Kongsvinger IL on Wednesday, the final day of Major League Soccer’s secondary transfer window.
Job signed a U22 Initiative contract that runs through the 2029-30 MLS season with a club option for 2030-31. He will occupy an international roster slot, pending receipt of his P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate. As part of the transaction, FC Dallas acquired Job’s Discovery Priority Rights from Red Bull New York in exchange for $100,000 in 2027 General Allocation Money.
Job turned 21 last week. He was born Aug. 26, 2005, stands 5-foot-9, and came up through the Future Pro Soccer Academy in Lagos, Nigeria.
Zanotta addressed the transfer in the club’s announcement Wednesday afternoon.
“Daniel is a promising young winger who has excelled in Norway and generated a lot of interest from clubs across Europe,” FC Dallas chief soccer officer Andre Zanotta said.
“We believe he has a lot of upside and the qualities to continue developing at FC Dallas, and we’re excited to have him here,” Zanotta continued. “His speed and ability to attack defenders will give us another dynamic option in the final third and add another element to our attack.”
Big D Soccer reported the fee is in the $5 million range plus incentives. FC Dallas did not disclose a figure.
Daniel Job’s Career in Norway
Job joined Kongsvinger from Sarpsborg 08 on a free transfer on Feb. 6 and made his debut for the club on April 7. Over 20 appearances he recorded 8 goals and 9 assists. He scored most recently in the first round of the Norwegian Football Cup against Skreia IL.
Kongsvinger sits in the OBOS-ligaen, the second tier of Norwegian soccer. Job spent the 2025 season on loan at another second-division side, Egersunds IK.
His professional career started in 2024, when Sarpsborg 08 took him on loan from Future Pro. Job debuted for the reserve side, Sarpsborg 08 FF II, on April 8, 2024, and made his first-team debut in the Norwegian Football Cup two days later. Sarpsborg 08 bought him outright that July. From 2024 through 2025 he made 27 first-team appearances, scored 2 goals, and added 3 assists, and he scored 10 goals for Sarpsborg 08 II over the same stretch.
FC Dallas Roster Moves This Window
Dallas moved two attackers out during the same window. Enes Sali went to LaLiga2 side FC Andorra on a permanent transfer Aug. 7 after two loan spells with Al-Riyadh SC in Saudi Arabia. Deedson left for Ligue 2 side FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in late August, following his appearances for Haiti at the World Cup. Deedson played nine matches for Dallas and scored once, on April 11 against St. Louis City SC.
Dallas is fifth in the Western Conference at 9-6-7 with 34 points. Its most recent match was a 3-3 draw at St. Louis City SC on Aug. 30. Sporting Kansas City visits Toyota Stadium on Saturday for the club’s first home match in three months, and the first since the renovated east side of the stadium reopened. Sporting Kansas City is last in the conference at 4-15-3 with 15 points. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. CT on Apple TV.
