MILWAUKEE — Ezequiel Durán hit the 15th home run of his season in the third inning Sunday afternoon at American Family Field. He hit 14 in 2023. That was his previous career high.
The two-out solo shot off Dustin May tied the game at 2. Statcast projected it at 410 feet.
“I feel good. I feel good. I feel blessed and I feel grateful too,” Durán said.
Ezequiel Durán’s 2026 Numbers
Durán entered Sunday batting .271/.330/.441 in 127 games. He had 25 doubles, 4 triples, 14 home runs, and 70 RBIs. He had drawn 37 walks against 118 strikeouts. His OPS+ of 124 is the highest of his five seasons.
Durán participated in 122 games in 2023, posting a .276 batting average with 22 doubles, 14 home runs, and 46 RBIs. In 2025, he played 90 games but did not hit any home runs, finishing the season with a .224 batting average, a .559 OPS, and 14 RBIs.
He added a two-run ground-rule double in the fifth on Sunday. Durán finished 2-for-5 with 3 RBIs and two runs scored. The Texas Rangers beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-4.
“Zeke, he’s been our most valuable player,” Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said. “He’s played every position at an elite level. And I’m glad he’s carried us for most of the year.”
Entering Sunday, Durán had played 49 games at shortstop, 43 at third base, 25 at second base, 21 in left field, 13 in right field, 6 in center field, and 2 at first base. He has 3.9 wins above replacement in 2026, per Baseball Reference. He totaled 1.7 across his first four seasons combined.
Durán has hit safely in four of his last five games. On Aug. 24 he went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs in an 11-2 win at Chicago. Two days later he went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs in a 10-4 loss to the White Sox.
Durán has 10 stolen bases in 13 attempts this season. He totaled 24 across his first four years.
Ezequiel Durán’s Trade To Texas And Contract Status
On July 29, 2021, the New York Yankees traded Durán to Texas as part of the deal that brought Joey Gallo to New York. Additionally, Glenn Otto, Josh Smith, and Trevor Hauver were included in the same trade to the Rangers. Durán made his major-league debut on June 4, 2022, facing the Seattle Mariners, but went 0-for-3. He was also part of the roster for the 2023 World Series.
Durán is under contract through 2026 on a $1.38 million salary. He will be eligible for arbitration in 2027 and is not expected to hit free agency until 2029.
“Keep playing hard, keep winning games and keep trusting,” Durán said of the season’s final month.
The Rangers have a record of 67-70 with 25 games left. They go back to Arlington on Monday to start a three-game series against the Athletics. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT.
