COLUMBIA, Mo. — David Olano accounted for every point the Texas A&M Aggies scored on Saturday, making field goals from 53 and 27 yards. The No. 14 Missouri Tigers won 27-6 at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium.
Texas A&M fell to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the SEC. It was the Aggies’ third loss in four games, and all three came by double digits. Texas A&M opened the season No. 8 in the preseason AP Top 25. Two weeks ago, the Aggies were also held without a touchdown in a 35-6 loss at LSU.
Missouri finished with 399 total yards, and 252 of them came on 44 rushing attempts. Jamal Roberts carried 34 times for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns, the last on a 54-yard run. Texas A&M managed 216 total yards and 29 rushing yards on 23 carries.
Texas A&M coach Mike Elko is 22-10 overall and 13-7 in SEC play in his third season. The Aggies reached the College Football Playoff last season.
“I don’t know that I’m beat up. I’m disappointed for the product that’s on the field,” Elko said. “So maybe we’ll do a session and then I’ll open up. I’ll lay down and I’ll open up to you about my feelings.”
Marcel Reed And The Texas A&M Offense Held Out Of The End Zone
Marcel Reed completed 19 of 39 passes for 187 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. He also ran 7 times for minus-18 yards. Trajen Greco and Elijah Dotson made the interceptions for Missouri. Reed has now gone three straight games without a touchdown pass or 190 passing yards.
“We got to fix our mistakes, and like I said, it takes 11 people to complete a football play,” Reed said.
Missouri gained 19 yards and did not score on its first three drives. During that stretch, Austin Simmons threw his first interception of the season when TJ Searcy batted a pass intended for Cayden Lee at the line and Daymion Sanford caught it. Texas A&M led 3-0 before Simmons and Lee connected on a 32-yard touchdown that put Missouri ahead for good.
Brandon Davis-Swain blocked a Missouri field goal attempt as time expired in the second quarter, and the Aggies went into halftime down 10-3. Missouri opened the second half with a 51-yard field goal. Texas A&M converted 5 of 18 third downs and did not reach the end zone on any possession.
“I was really, really impressed with our defense,” Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz said.
Olano, a senior, is 9-for-9 on field goals this season. He is the first Aggie to open a season that way since Todd Pegram made his first 12 attempts in 2004.
Mike Elko On Brady Hart And The Aggies Fan Base
Brady Hart is a sophomore quarterback. Holmon Wiggins was promoted to offensive coordinator in December 2025 after two seasons as Texas A&M’s co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.
“It just doesn’t feel like that’s the move that would help us,” Elko explained of a change at quarterback. He added that the staff will keep evaluating it.
A question from On3’s Carter Karels concerned fans losing faith in the program at 3-3. He drew a line between Aggies fans and the TexAgs message board and named site owner Billy Lucci.
“There is a difference between the fan base and social media,” Elko said. “There’s one group that I really don’t care much about. Billy’s cesspool can go be Billy’s cesspool.”
“Our fan base, be with us. Stay behind us. We are going to build something we told you we were going to build. We are in a really bad spot right now, but we are going to work our way out of it,” Elko continued.
Texas A&M hosts The Citadel next Saturday at Kyle Field in a nonconference game on SEC Network+. The Aggies visit Alabama on Oct. 24.
