DALLAS — The NHL released its 2026-27 national broadcast schedule on Aug. 26, and the Dallas Stars will appear on national television 13 times. Four of those games will air on ESPN, five on TNT, three on ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu, and one on ABC, according to the team.
The first of the 13 is the season opener. Dallas hosts the St. Louis Blues on Friday, Oct. 2, at American Airlines Center, with puck drop at 8 p.m. CT on TNT. That game begins an 84-game regular season, the league’s first at that length since 1993-94.
Eleven days later, the Stars open a home-and-home set with the Colorado Avalanche. The first game is in Dallas on Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN, and the second is in Denver on Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. on TNT. When the schedule came out July 16, the Oct. 14 game was listed at 8:30 p.m., according to the full schedule published by WFAA. Colorado won the Central Division last season. Dallas finished second at 50-20-12 and lost to the Minnesota Wild in the first round of the playoffs.
Three of the 13 national games are against the Vegas Golden Knights. Dallas plays at Vegas on Nov. 17 at 9 p.m. on TNT and again on Nov. 19 at 9 p.m. on ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu. The third meeting is the 2027 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series on Saturday, Feb. 20, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Puck drop for the outdoor game is 7 p.m. CT on ABC. Vegas reached the Stanley Cup Final last season and lost to the Carolina Hurricanes. The Stadium Series will be the second outdoor game in Stars history. Dallas beat the Nashville Predators 4-2 in the 2020 Winter Classic at the Cotton Bowl.
The other national dates run from October through the end of February. The Boston Bruins visit on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The Washington Capitals visit on Dec. 15 at 8:30 p.m. on TNT. The Philadelphia Flyers visit on Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. on ESPN, two nights before the Stadium Series. The final national game is Feb. 28 at St. Louis at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
The other two streaming exclusives are Dec. 3 at the Seattle Kraken at 9 p.m. and Jan. 19 at the New Jersey Devils at 6 p.m. The New Jersey game is the fourth stop on a five-game road trip from Jan. 14-20, the longest trip of the season. The trip ends the next night in Chicago, where the Stars play the Blackhawks on Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. on TNT.

Seven Start Times Changed
Along with the broadcast assignments, the league moved the start times of seven Dallas games. Four of the seven are national broadcasts. The other three are the Anaheim Ducks home game on March 10, the road game at the Utah Mammoth on April 7, and the road game at the Nashville Predators on April 10.

Regional Games Move to Prime Video
The remaining 71 games will air on the Stars’ regional broadcasts. On Sept. 2, the team announced that Prime Video will stream every non-national game for fans in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas, with no subscription beyond an Amazon Prime membership. Dallas is one of six NHL teams moving local streaming to Prime Video this season, along with Carolina, Columbus, Minnesota, St. Louis, and Anaheim. Josh Bogorad and Daryl Reaugh return on the broadcast, with Brien Rea and Brent Severyn on the pregame, intermission, and postgame shows.
Seventeen of the regional games will also air on FOX 4 and FOX 4+, according to the station. The first is Oct. 22 against the Winnipeg Jets at 7 p.m.
The regular season pauses Feb. 5-7 for NHL All-Star Weekend at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The April 10 game at Nashville is the back half of one of 13 back-to-back sets on the schedule, following an April 9 home game against Utah.
