FRISCO, Texas — CeeDee Lamb said the burglary at his home during training camp affected him on the field.
Lamb met with reporters at The Star on Monday and addressed the break-in publicly for the first time. He called it a private situation and did not go further.
“It’s obviously a private situation, but it was definitely unfortunate,” Lamb said. “Things like that happen. It’s got to better.”
Asked whether it had any impact on him during camp, Lamb said it did.
“For sure,” Lamb said. “For sure.”
Fairview police responded to Lamb’s home on July 31 for a reported burglary while he was in Oxnard, Calif., with the team. Officers met with representatives for Lamb, who showed them a broken window on the side of the house. Evidence indicated a single person entered and left through that window and took several high-end personal items. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, citing police records, reported that four luxury bags valued at more than $300,000 were taken. The investigation is ongoing.

Dallas Cowboys kept Lamb, George Pickens, Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin, Jonathan Mingo, and rookie Camden Brown on the initial 53-man roster, and Jordan Hudson cleared waivers Monday and signed to the practice squad.
“It’s good to see all my boys get in love because what we see every day is amazing,” Lamb said. “Everybody in the room compete. Everybody strive to better. We learn from one another. To see Cam, Hud, obviously you got Flo, you got Turp, you got playmakers, you know what I’m saying? Mingo, you feel me? Everybody had a, I feel like they’ve contributed to the wins this preseason and it’s been good.”
“Winning is contagious and you want to win every rep. You want to win every route,” Lamb continued. “And then when we get into meetings and we watch, we ask each other like what you was thinking on this release, like how, like what made you comfortable enough to select this one, win, lose or draw though.”
Pickens came over from Pittsburgh in May of last year and caught 93 passes for 1,429 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2025. Lamb topped 1,000 yards for a fifth straight season despite missing three games.
“I don’t think he questions anything about where my loyalty stands with him and vice versa,” Lamb explained. “I feel like we both have that alpha mentality, the alpha dog component to us. So just rubbing off one another and just keeping this thing going, man.”
Lamb said his job when Pickens arrived was making the transition as seamless as possible, from plays to alignments to blocking assignments, and that learning a new playbook after a regime change is harder than it looks.

Dallas took Caleb Downs 11th overall in April, trading up one spot with the Miami Dolphins and giving up two fifth-round picks. Downs won the Jim Thorpe Award and the Lott Trophy at Ohio State in 2025 and was a two-time unanimous All-American.
“He’s a competitor, man. He’s really elite at his job,” Lamb said. “He don’t really like losing much and neither do I. So I feel like the battles there are very fun. He’s real strong, real physical in the game, whether it’s run game, pass game, regardless.”
Lamb said he has picked up new releases and new plans from the reps, and that a rookie with that much energy in his first camp does not let him take anything off.
Lamb also pointed to offensive coordinator Klayton Adams, who is in his second season in Dallas. Lamb said Adams controls the room and that the run game changed inside a year.
