HENDERSON, Nev. — Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby ranked fifth on Bleacher Report’s NFL trade block big board Wednesday, and the Dallas Cowboys were one of the two teams listed as potential suitors.
Kristopher Knox listed the Chicago Bears as the other suitor. For Crosby, Knox projected a trade value of a 2027 first-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick.
Knox wrote that the Raiders’ 1-0 start should cool trade talk around Crosby for now. Las Vegas opened the season Sept. 13 against the Miami Dolphins at Allegiant Stadium, and Crosby sacked quarterback Malik Willis in the fourth quarter.
At some point, the Raiders will turn the offense over to their rookie quarterback, Knox wrote, and building around him should become the focus if and when Las Vegas starts to stumble. Knox expects teams that need pass-rush help to “make more offers to acquire Crosby before the trade deadline passes.” The deadline is Nov. 10.
Maxx Crosby’s Failed Trade To The Baltimore Ravens
Crosby asked for a trade after the 2025 season, according to Knox. The Raiders had placed him on injured reserve with a knee injury for the final two games of that season. Crosby had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee in early January.
On March 6, Las Vegas agreed to send Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens for the 14th pick in the 2026 draft and a 2027 first-round pick. Crosby traveled to Baltimore for his physical. On March 10, the Raiders released a statement saying the Ravens had backed out of the agreement.
Baltimore’s decision was based on a medical reason, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported. Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta told reporters the next day that he was “gutted” the team had to pull out.
Crosby was a fourth-round pick, 106th overall, out of Eastern Michigan in 2019. He played high school football at Colleyville Heritage. Through 2025, he had 69.5 career sacks in 110 games. He has made five Pro Bowls and two second-team All-Pro teams.
Dallas Cowboys Pass Rush After The Micah Parsons Trade
Knox wrote that moving a pass rusher can help jump-start a rebuild, and he named the Cowboys and the Cleveland Browns as teams that recently did it. Dallas traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 28, 2025, for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks.
This offseason, Dallas acquired edge rusher Rashan Gary in a trade with Green Bay. Gary had 7.5 sacks in 2025, all of them in the Packers’ first eight weeks. The Cowboys drafted Malachi Lawrence 23rd overall in April and later signed Von Miller, who had 9 sacks for the Washington Commanders last season.
Donovan Ezeiruaku had 2 sacks as a rookie in 2025. He had offseason surgery on his hip. Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker is in his first season running the Dallas defense.
On Sunday night, Dallas lost 28-20 to the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart went 23-of-29 for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns.
