Arizona Cardinals Rookie Jeremiyah Love Will Play Sunday Against Dallas Cowboys After Missing Two Games With Ankle Injury

TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love will play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday afternoon.
Love has missed Arizona’s last two games with a left ankle injury. He returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant, his first session since Oct. 9, and was limited again Thursday.
Arizona took Love third overall in April after he won the Doak Walker Award at Notre Dame, running for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2025. Through five NFL games, he has run 67 times for 245 yards and 1 touchdown. He has also caught 11 passes for 36 yards and another score.
Jeremiyah Love’s Ankle Injuries Since The Preseason
Love sprained his right ankle Aug. 13 at Las Vegas in his only preseason game. The left ankle injury that has sidelined him first became visible during the Oct. 4 loss at the New York Giants, according to Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur.
Love practiced fully Oct. 9 and said that week he was feeling “really, really good.” Two days later against Detroit, he ran 12 times for 22 yards.
On Oct. 14, Love did not practice, the first of three straight days he sat out that week. LaFleur said the rookie is a tough player.
“Want to get this ankle right and do it the right way,” LaFleur said. “He’s a tough dude. You guys see the way he plays and how aggressive he is with his cuts. Imagine being a running back in the NFL, trying to put the foot down and cut the way that you’re capable of.”
LaFleur ruled Love out of the Oct. 18 game at the Los Angeles Rams two days later and said there had been no discussion of putting him on injured reserve. Arizona won that game and ran for a season-high 120 yards, with Tyler Allgeier and Zonovan “Bam” Knight splitting the carries.
Love missed every practice the next week as well. On Oct. 23, LaFleur ruled him out of the home game against the Denver Broncos.
“Each situation is its own,” LaFleur explained. “The whole point of this was to get [Jeremiyah] feeling great and feeling 100%. He’s getting better, but no. What Bam did has nothing to do with this.”
Arizona lost to Denver 30-16 at State Farm Stadium, its 10th straight home loss. On Monday, LaFleur said Love would be back on the practice field Wednesday. “We’ll see how the week goes,” LaFleur said.

Allgeier is on this week’s injury report too. He did not practice Wednesday because of a toe injury and was limited Thursday.
At 2-5, Arizona has won both of its games this season on the road. The Cardinals have also won the last four regular-season meetings with Dallas, including a 27-17 win at AT&T Stadium on Nov. 3, 2025. The Cowboys’ last regular-season win in the series came in 2017.
Dallas is 3-4 after Monday’s 38-21 win at Philadelphia, which snapped a two-game losing streak. Javonte Williams ran 25 times for a career-high 155 yards and 1 touchdown in that game. The Cowboys finished with 204 rushing yards on 38 carries.
Kickoff Sunday is set for noon CT on FOX.
