AUSTIN, Texas — DraftKings Sportsbook priced Arch Manning at +950 on its Heisman Trophy board Saturday morning. That is second, behind Miami Hurricanes quarterback Darian Mensah at +490. The latest odds come hours before the fourth-ranked Texas Longhorns host the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
Manning completed 20-of-27 passes for 305 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception in the 59-7 win over Texas State on Sept. 5. He completed 74.1% of his attempts. He left the game in the third quarter with Texas leading 42-7. The 305 yards were the most by a Texas quarterback in a season opener since Sam Ehlinger threw for 426 against UTEP in 2020.
Cam Coleman, an Auburn transfer, caught 2 of those touchdown passes and finished with 3 receptions for 70 yards in his Texas debut. Raleek Brown, who came from Arizona State, scored twice.
“I liked how we got a lot of guys involved. We have a lot of playmakers who can do everything,” Manning said, in an availability reported by The Associated Press.

CBS Sports published a FanDuel board on Sept. 8. Manning was +1100 on it. Chambliss and Jeremiah Smith carried the same number, Mensah was +650, and Sayin was +1300.
Mensah has played six quarters this season. He is 41-of-45 for 653 yards and 8 touchdowns through two games, without an interception. Miami signed him out of the transfer portal from Duke, where he threw for 3,973 yards and 34 touchdowns last season.
“His skill set really fits what we do,” Miami coach Mario Cristobal said.
Julian Sayin, Jeremiah Smith Carry Ohio State’s Heisman Odds
Sayin completed 21-of-25 passes for 320 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 56-3 win over Ball State on Sept. 5. He added the first rushing touchdown of his career on a 3-yard run on fourth-and-goal. He was pulled midway through the third quarter with Ohio State ahead 42-3. In the 2025 Heisman voting, Sayin finished fourth after throwing for 3,610 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions.
“It was a fun game. We did some good things offensively, but like Coach (Day) always says, the issues are always going to be there,” Sayin said. “We’ve got to get on the film and see what we made mistakes on, and see what we can get better at because obviously a big matchup going next week and we’re fired up about it.”
Jeremiah Smith caught 8 passes for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns against Ball State, all of it in the first half. He opened the scoring with a 48-yard catch in the end zone off play action. He added a 3-yard catch with 10 seconds left in the half. Over two seasons Smith has 163 receptions for 2,558 yards and 27 touchdowns, and he finished sixth in the 2025 Heisman voting.
Last season in Columbus, Manning completed 17-of-30 passes for 170 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in a 14-7 loss on Aug. 30. He entered that game as the Heisman favorite. Texas scored on a 32-yard pass to Parker Livingstone in the fourth quarter.
“Ultimately, not good enough,” Manning told reporters afterward. “Obviously, you don’t want to start off the season going 0-1. They’re a good team, but I thought we beat ourselves a lot. That starts with me. I’ve got to play better for us to win.”
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian was asked that night whether Manning met his expectations.
“I mean, sure, I always want him to play better,” Sarkisian said. “And so for Arch, the expectations were out of control on the outside. But I’d say let’s finish the book before we judge it. This is one chapter, and we got a long season to go play.”
Ohio State leads the all-time series 3-2 and has won the last two meetings. The other was a 28-14 College Football Playoff semifinal at the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 10, 2025. Saturday is the third straight season the programs have met.
Texas is a 1.5-point favorite with an over/under of 49.5, according to FanDuel Research. ESPN’s College GameDay broadcasts from campus from 8 to 11 a.m. CT. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
