PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — TMRW Sports, the parent company of the indoor golf league TGL, is finalizing a new round of funding that would value the company at $1 billion, according to Front Office Sports.
After its Series A round in June 2024, TMRW was valued at close to $500 million. That figure rose to $650 million during a funding round last year, Front Office Sports reported.
TMRW has been talking with some investors since July, around the time of the World Cup final, according to the report. Dynasty Equity, which co-led the Series A, is part of the new round. Connect Ventures, the other co-leader of the Series A, has not announced whether it will take part.
Jonathan M. Nelson and K. Don Cornwell co-founded Dynasty. When TMRW announced the Series A on June 24, 2024, Cornwell joined its board of directors as an observer. Connect is an investment partnership between Creative Artists Agency and venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates. It also co-led TMRW’s initial fundraising round.
Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and former Golf Channel president Mike McCarley founded TMRW, pronounced “tomorrow,” in 2022. McCarley is the company’s CEO. In the Series A announcement, McCarley said the relationships and resources from the round would “help serve as a springboard for further development and expansion,” including new partnerships with major global sports leagues.
Every TGL match is played at SoFi Center, the league’s arena on the campus of Palm Beach State College. Woods plays for Jupiter Links Golf Club, and McIlroy plays for Boston Common Golf.
Arthur Blank, Tony Romo Among TMRW Sports Investors
Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank is a TMRW investor. He also owns Atlanta Drive GC, which won the first TGL title in 2025.
David Blitzer, a co-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils, and Washington Commanders, is a TMRW investor. He is also a co-owner of Jupiter Links.
Carolyn Tisch Blodgett invested on behalf of the Tisch family, which co-owns the New York Giants. She is the governor of Gotham FC and a limited partner in Los Angeles Golf Club. Fenway Sports Group, which leads Boston Common, is on the investor list as well.
Alexis Ohanian, who leads the Los Angeles Golf Club ownership group, is a TMRW investor. So are Michael Rubin, Justin Bieber, and Shaquille O’Neal.
In November 2022, TMRW announced a group of strategic investors that included former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Romo spent his entire NFL career with Dallas. In 156 games, he threw for 34,183 yards, 248 touchdowns, and 117 interceptions.
Dallas Group Planned TGL Bid Before Motor City Golf Club Expansion
On April 1, 2025, a week after the first TGL season ended, AP’s Doug Ferguson reported that one group was planning to bid for a Dallas franchise. That group had put the total investment at $77 million. McCarley told Ferguson there had been “a ton of interest over the course of a season.”
Seven weeks later, on May 20, 2025, TGL announced Motor City Golf Club as its seventh team and first expansion franchise. The Detroit team begins play in 2027, the league’s third season. A day later, Ferguson reported that a group representing Dallas had been working on a bid the previous month.
Middle West Partners leads the Motor City ownership group. Its principals, Michael Hamp, Peter Hamp, and Kevin Kelleher, were listed among the Series A investors through Middle West in June 2024. Detroit Lions principal owner Sheila Ford Hamp and her husband, Steve, are co-owners of Motor City. Denver Broncos owner Rob Walton is also part of the group.
In March, Los Angeles Golf Club swept Jupiter Links in the best-of-three finals to win the second TGL season.
During the 2025 season, ESPN platforms averaged just over 500,000 viewers, the AP reported. TMRW put that number above 850,000 using Nielsen Big Data + Panel.
TMRW and the LPGA announced the formation of WTGL, a women’s league featuring LPGA Tour players, on Jan. 6. Its five teams represent Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Detroit, and New York, according to Golf Channel. The first WTGL season begins in November at SoFi Center.
