FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys and wide receiver Ryan Flournoy agreed Thursday to a one-year contract extension worth up to $6 million, Jordan Schultz of The Schultz Report reported. Agent Molly McManimie finalized the deal Thursday night, according to Schultz.
Flournoy is playing on a two-year, $2.035 million contract he signed with Dallas in September 2025, according to Spotrac. That deal pays him a $1.075 million base salary this season. He was on track to become a restricted free agent in March.
Last season, Flournoy caught 40 passes for 475 yards and 4 touchdowns in 16 games, with 4 starts. Pro Football Reference credits him with 4 carries for 25 yards and 479 offensive snaps. As a rookie in 2024, he had 10 catches for 102 yards in 11 games.

Dallas drafted Flournoy in the sixth round of the 2024 draft, No. 216 overall, out of Southeast Missouri State. The Cowboys waived him Aug. 28, 2025, signed him to the practice squad two days later, and promoted him to the active roster Sept. 13.
His first 100-yard game came Oct. 5 against the New York Jets, with CeeDee Lamb sidelined by an ankle injury. Flournoy caught 6 passes for 114 yards and added 2 carries for 10 yards in a 37-22 win at MetLife Stadium.
On Dec. 4 at Ford Field, Flournoy caught 9 passes for 115 yards in a 44-30 loss to the Detroit Lions. Lamb left that game with a concussion. With 9:52 left in the fourth quarter, Flournoy caught a 42-yard touchdown pass from Dak Prescott.
At training camp in Oxnard, Calif., on Aug. 19, Cowboys special teams coordinator Nick Sorensen said Flournoy was one of the players the staff was training as a backup holder. Cowboys offensive coordinator Klayton Adams said the same day that the Jets game was probably where Flournoy started getting opportunities and making plays.
“Flo kind of got to the point maybe week three or four last year where he became like a sentient player, where you explain the details to him, you kind of give them the black and white,” Adams said. “You want to make things as black and white as you can for the players so they kind of have an idea and understanding. But when guys hit that certain level of understanding where they’re like, I know exactly why this route is complementing this route, I know exactly where it is in the read, and I know when there’s gray area what I can and I can’t do, when he hit that level his confidence, bang, it grew.”
In the regular-season finale Jan. 4, Flournoy led Dallas with 5 catches for 68 yards in a 34-17 loss to the New York Giants. The Cowboys pulled Lamb and George Pickens early in that game.

Schultz reported that Flournoy is expected to have a bigger role in the offense this season as the team’s No. 3 receiver. Pickens is playing 2026 on a one-year, $27.3 million franchise tag. The July 15 deadline for tagged players to sign long-term deals passed without an agreement. Last season, Pickens caught 93 passes for 1,429 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Jalen Tolbert, a 2022 third-round pick, signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins in March as an unrestricted free agent. Schultz first reported that agreement March 13. Tolbert caught 18 passes for 203 yards and 1 touchdown for the Cowboys in 2025.
Earlier Thursday, Dallas agreed to a three-year, $18 million extension with tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported. Spann-Ford is earning a $1.075 million base salary this season. He was on track to become a restricted free agent in March.
The Cowboys open the regular season against the Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Kickoff is set for 7:20 p.m. CT on NBC.
