ARLINGTON, Texas — Alejandro Osuna is playing right field and batting fifth for the Texas Rangers on Sunday, according to an updated lineup card. He takes the spot Brandon Nimmo held in the lineup the club posted earlier.
Nothing else moved. Wyatt Langford is still leading off in left field, Corey Seager is at designated hitter for a second straight day, and Ezequiel Durán bats fourth at shortstop.
The Rangers have not announced why Nimmo is out. Texas (78-77) is a game up on the Houston Astros in the American League West, with seven games left.

Osuna, 23, bats left-handed and made his major league debut May 25, 2025. He hit .212 with 2 home runs and 15 RBI over 63 games as a rookie. In 2024, he was named the Rangers’ minor league player of the year.
Nimmo batted fourth and played right field in Saturday’s 6-2 win. He singled in the sixth inning ahead of Langford’s RBI double, then scored when Jansen was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Jacob deGrom Starts As Texas Rangers Go For The Sweep
Jacob deGrom (11-9, 3.79 ERA) starts for Texas. First pitch is 1:35 p.m. CT on Rangers Sports Network and KRLD 1080 AM, and deGrom is 8-2 at home this season with 194 strikeouts.
For Toronto, right-hander Spencer Miles (6-2, 2.65 ERA) is the listed starter, with right-hander Spencer Arrighetti in line to follow in bulk relief. Texas is 6-0 against the Blue Jays this season.
Earlier Sunday, the Rangers placed Cal Quantrill on the 15-day injured list and recalled right-hander Winston Santos from Triple-A Round Rock. Five relievers covered 7 2/3 innings Saturday after Quantrill left with right lat tightness, and Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said afterward that he had not sorted out Sunday’s pitching.
“I’m worried about tomorrow,” Schumaker said. “I’m going to celebrate this for another hour or so and then figure out what we have pitching-wise going into tomorrow. We’ll celebrate this one first for the next hour or so, and then have a meeting right now and see where we’re at.”
Texas is off Monday before hosting the New York Mets from Sept. 22 to 24. The Rangers close the regular season with three games at the Minnesota Twins from Sept. 25 to 27.
