OXNARD, Calif. — Michael Irvin ran a workout with Camden Brown at Dallas Cowboys training camp, with footage posted to the Instagram account for Irvin’s Netflix podcast.
The Cowboys practiced at River Ridge Playing Fields from July 29 through Aug. 18 and closed the Oxnard portion of camp with a joint practice against the New Orleans Saints. Dallas was carrying 91 players at the time and would cut to 53 on Aug. 30. Irvin’s instruction in the clip covered how Brown can use his momentum after the catch to add yards.
“We gonna get you All-Pro in no time. I promise that,” Irvin said.
Brown made the roster and is the only member of this year’s undrafted class on it. Dallas kept 6 receivers.
Both men went to St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Irvin started at Piper High School in Sunrise and transferred to St. Thomas Aquinas after his sophomore year, graduating in 1984. Brown caught 24 passes for 483 yards and 9 touchdowns as a senior for the Raiders, who reached the Florida Class 7A title game that season. Two years before that, working behind Ole Miss signee Bralon Brown and Vanderbilt signee Quincy Skinner, he was part of a St. Thomas Aquinas team that won the 7A state championship.
Michael Irvin’s Dallas Cowboys Career And Netflix Podcast
The Cowboys drafted Irvin 11th overall out of Miami in 1988, and he spent all 12 of his seasons in Dallas. He caught 750 passes for 11,904 yards and 65 touchdowns in 159 games, won three Super Bowls, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007. In 1991 he led the NFL with 1,523 receiving yards and was a first-team All-Pro. He was a second-team All-Pro in 1992 and 1993 and went to five straight Pro Bowls from 1991 through 1995.
Since January, Irvin has hosted The White House with Michael Irvin, Netflix’s first original sports talk podcast. It premiered Jan. 19 and runs two episodes a week. Brandon Marshall‘s production company makes the show and films most episodes at its Miami studio, and Marshall rotates in as a co-host. The title comes from the house near Valley Ranch where Cowboys players gathered in the 1990s, which Irvin talked about in the Netflix docuseries “America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys.”
Camden Brown’s Return To Oxnard, Roster Spot, And College Production
Brown had been to River Ridge before. Georgia Southern stayed at the same Oxnard hotel and practice field in 2025 between road games at Fresno State and Southern California, The Associated Press reported. He caught 7 passes for 130 yards and 3 touchdowns across those two games.
Dallas signed Brown after the 2026 draft as one of 11 undrafted free agents, on a three-year contract worth $3 million. The Cowboys set the initial 53 on Aug. 30 ahead of the NFL’s 5 p.m. CT deadline, waiving 28 players and releasing 7. Brown wore No. 6 through camp and the preseason and changed to No. 80 on Wednesday.
Brown finished the preseason with 6 receptions for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns, and he led the Cowboys in receiving yards in both games he played. He caught 3 passes for 62 yards and both Dallas touchdowns in the opener at the Seattle Seahawks on Aug. 15. A week later at the Arizona Cardinals, on third-and-3 from the Dallas 29, he took a throw 70 yards to the Arizona 1.
Through three seasons at Auburn, Brown caught 26 passes for 289 yards and 3 touchdowns. He transferred to Georgia Southern for his final year and caught 65 passes for 1,079 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2025. He was the first Georgia Southern receiver to reach 1,000 yards in a season. His 14 touchdown catches led the country.
The Cowboys open the season at the New York Giants on Sunday, with kickoff at 7:20 p.m. CT on NBC.
