‘I Hope He Lands Safely’: Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb React To George Pickens’ Hurdle, 14.9% Touchdown

FRISCO, Texas — George Pickens’ 21-yard touchdown catch in Monday’s 38-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles carried a 14.9% completion probability, and CeeDee Lamb said Thursday he knew it was a touchdown the moment Pickens came down with it.
No catch this season has had a lower completion probability, according to Next Gen Stats, as reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer. The second-quarter grab in the corner of the end zone put the Dallas Cowboys ahead 17-14, and Pickens played through a shoulder injury to make it. He finished with 4 catches for 57 yards and 1 touchdown.
CeeDee Lamb On George Pickens’ Toe-Tap Touchdown
Lamb was on the other side of the field when the ball arrived. He started running toward the end zone before the officials signaled anything.
“George is George, man. Y’all know this. By now, if you haven’t, just throw the ball up and we’ll see how it lands,” Lamb said. “And when it goes his way, it was just, I mean, I had, I was obviously on the other side of the field, but me seeing him catch the ball, I already knew it was a touchdown. So I just started running. I didn’t even care about the feet. I already knew what it was.”
“So, uh, just having that confidence and that instillment in him. And obviously I’ve been around him for the last few years. So just seeing his prep and the way that he prepares and the way he go about his business. And that was a great catch, by the way,” Lamb continued.
The Cowboys watched it back in the film room this week. Lamb has a name for the footwork.
“Sweet feet. That’s what I call it. It’s twinkle toes. It’s nice,” Lamb explained.
Pickens has 37 catches for 485 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, his second in Dallas after the Cowboys acquired him from the Pittsburgh Steelers in May 2025. He is playing 2026 on the franchise tag.
Dak Prescott And Lamb On Pickens’ Hurdle
Near the end of the first half, Pickens caught a 21-yard pass from Dak Prescott along the sideline and tried to leap over an Eagles cornerback instead of stepping out of bounds. He landed on his back and stayed in the game. Dallas went into halftime ahead 20-14 after a Brandon Aubrey field goal.
From where Prescott stood, the ball looked like it swiped back toward the field as Pickens went up.
“I hope he lands safely. Really, that’s about it. When George has the ball, you know something electric is going to happen,” Prescott said. “When he went up in there, the only thing I saw was kind of the ball like swipe back into the field.”
“And, yeah, just a quick scream at him, and he gets up laughing, ready to go. And that’s George,” Prescott continued.
Lamb was coming off the sideline for the next play when Pickens left his feet. He checked on him on the way back onto the field.
“Mind you, I was off the field, and then when it happened, I was coming on the next play. I see him hurdle. I’m like, yo, what’s wrong with this kid? That’s the first thing I said, and then I jogged on the field,” Lamb said. “And I asked, I checked on him, like, yo, bro, you straight? He’s like, yeah, I’m good. I’m like, bro, relax. But I don’t think he got that button on him.”
Pickens and the Cowboys host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at AT&T Stadium. Kickoff is set for noon CT on FOX.
