‘We Stop Ourselves’: CeeDee Lamb Says Dallas Cowboys Offense Is Its Own Biggest Obstacle

FRISCO, Texas — CeeDee Lamb said Thursday that nobody can stop the Dallas Cowboys offense but the Cowboys themselves, and that it keeps happening.
Dallas scored 30 points in Sunday’s 33-30 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals, but nine came on Brandon Aubrey field goals. The Cowboys ran for 93 yards and went three-and-out on their only overtime possession.
Lamb stands by what he said on camera after the win at Philadelphia.
“I don’t think we can be stopped. We stop ourselves. It’s frustrating. It’s annoying. I hate it. Then ultimately we end up losing, so there’s that,” Lamb said.
Things are not hard, Lamb said. Dallas is just slow to adjust to what defenses show.
“No. No. Absolutely not. We’ve got to be able to adjust fast enough. I feel like we still take a minute to adjust to what the defense has given us. Although we scored 30, but, I mean, three of them are field goals. Let’s be real,” Lamb explained.
CeeDee Lamb Wants The Game Made Simpler
The fix starts with simplicity and third downs, in Lamb’s view. He is also tired of talking about it.
“We just got to, overall, we got to play the game. We got to just make it much more simpler. Make the game much simpler. I feel like we complicated it in a way to some degree on certain times, but I feel like we’re not coming up and getting the first down on third downs and things of that nature,” Lamb said. “I don’t really like continuing to talk about this week in and week out as if I got to figure it out, and then we go out there and do what we do. So we just got to go out there and play ball. I’m frustrated.”
Lamb included himself in the details that stall drives.
“Convert on third downs that you’re supposed to, being able to, for myself included, backside adjust, blitz pickups, things of that nature. We’ve just got to be all of one. We’ve just got to be one on offense and contribute,” Lamb said.
Lamb leads the NFL with 92 targets and has 60 catches for 709 yards and six touchdowns.
Dak Prescott Says Frustration Has To Turn Into Solutions
Quarterback Dak Prescott said every player feels the frustration of failing in crunch time, but it cannot bleed into the details.
“When you’ve got the talent we’ve got, when you’ve got the expectation, the standards that we have for ourselves, and you go three-and-out or you don’t score a touchdown, like, yeah, that’s frustrating,” Prescott said. “And you’ve got to make sure that you don’t allow that to continue to bleed, because then that bleeds into guys making MAs or not doing the details the right way because they want the big play rather than just sticking to it.”
Dallas visits the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Kickoff at Lucas Oil Stadium is set for noon CT on FOX.
