Texas Legends Announce Training Camp Roster After Taking Jeremy Sochan No. 1 In G League Draft

FRISCO, Texas — Jeremy Sochan is on the Texas Legends’ training camp roster after the Dallas Mavericks’ G League affiliate took him first overall in Saturday’s NBA G League Draft. The Legends released their 18-player camp roster for the 2026-27 season on Monday.
The San Antonio Spurs drafted Sochan ninth overall in 2022 after one season at Baylor. He averaged at least 11 points in each of his first three seasons in San Antonio.
San Antonio waived Sochan on Feb. 11. He finished the 2025-26 season with the New York Knicks and won an NBA championship with them in June.
On Aug. 1, Sochan signed a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. Portland waived him Oct. 17 after four preseason appearances, a week before the G League Draft. Sochan has averaged 9.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 228 NBA games across four seasons.
Jevin Muniz, Matthew Lane, And Jonathan Jackson Join Jeremy Sochan Among Texas Legends Draft Picks
Texas made three more picks after Sochan. At No. 10, the Legends took Jevin Muniz, a 6-foot-6 guard who started 26 of 34 games for Colorado State last season.
Muniz averaged 9.4 points and a Mountain West-leading 4.9 assists per game. The conference named him to its All-Mountain West third team in March. He spent two seasons at Delaware State and one at Florida Gulf Coast before transferring to Colorado State.
With the 17th pick, the Legends selected Matthew Lane, a 7-foot-1, 250-pound center who played college basketball at Molloy College. Lane spent his rookie professional season with the Aschersleben Tigers BC in Germany’s Regionalliga Nord. In 26 games there, he averaged 13.4 points, 14.6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks.
Texas closed its draft at No. 40 with Jonathan Jackson, a 6-foot-4 guard-forward from Midwestern State. Jackson averaged 10.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 26 games at Midwestern State. He made 42.8% of his three-point attempts.
Three other players reached camp through the NBA G League International Draft on July 2. The Legends took Jorge Diaz Graham with the first overall pick in that draft and his identical twin brother, Guillermo Diaz Graham, at No. 3.
Both forwards spent three seasons at Pittsburgh before transferring. As a senior at Oregon State in 2025-26, Jorge averaged 6.0 points and 3.6 rebounds. His 32 blocks led the Beavers. Guillermo averaged 5.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists at San Francisco last season and shot 37.5% from three-point range. He won the 2022 FIBA U20 European Championship with Spain.
Texas acquired the draft rights to Muzamil “Zee” Hamoda from the San Diego Clippers in a trade. Hamoda, from Riffa, Bahrain, averaged 9.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 29 games at Nicholls State last season and shot 38.3% from three-point range. At Sacramento State in 2023-24, he averaged 11.9 points and 4.0 rebounds and was an All-Big Sky honorable mention.
Walter Clayton Jr., Jett Howard, And Tobi Lawal Among Dallas Mavericks Players In Legends Camp
Along with its four G League Draft picks and three International Draft selections, the roster carries three Mavericks two-way players, four players whose returning rights the Legends hold, one affiliate player, and three players from local tryouts.
Dallas signed Walter Clayton Jr. to the last of its three two-way contracts Oct. 21, two days after the Memphis Grizzlies waived him. Clayton, the 18th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of Florida, averaged 7.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in 69 games as a rookie with the Utah Jazz and Memphis.
Jett Howard, the 11th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Michigan, signed his two-way deal with Dallas on July 20. The Mavericks took Tobi Lawal out of Virginia Tech with the 48th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Two-way players can be active for up to 50 Mavericks regular-season games.
On Oct. 17, the Mavericks waived Seth Lundy, who had been in camp on an Exhibit 10 contract. Lundy is on the Legends roster as an affiliate player.
Texas holds returning player rights to Matt Cross, Adam Flagler, Darin Green Jr., and Chris Mantis. The Sacramento Kings waived Flagler from his two-way contract Oct. 19. Flagler played for the Austin Spurs last season. He and Sochan were teammates at Baylor in 2021-22.
Jasper Floyd of West Virginia, Kebba Njie of Notre Dame, and Shammah Scott of Akron made the roster out of local player tryouts.
The G League season begins Nov. 6 with the 14-game Tip-Off Tournament. Texas opens at the Mexico City Capitanes on Sunday, Nov. 8, with tip-off set for 6:30 p.m. CT. The Legends’ home opener at Comerica Center is Friday, Nov. 13, against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 7 p.m. CT.
