San Antonio Spurs forward Keldon Johnson has won the 2025-26 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award.
Johnson appeared in all 82 games during the regular season.
“I feel like it’s just a testament to the hard work, the dedication that I’ve had to myself, to doing what I love to do,” Johnson told ESPN. “It hasn’t always been easy. But it never deterred me, never steered me away. I just found a way to be the best Keldon Johnson each and every day. Being Sixth Man of the Year is just a testament to that, to my supporting cast, to the Spurs and how much they’ve trusted and believed in me.”
The 26-year-old Johnson averaged 13.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 51.9% from the field, 36.3% from beyond the arc and 79.4% from the free-throw line. He’s the second player in San Antonio franchise history to win the Sixth Man of the Year Award, joining Hall of Famer Manu Ginóbili, who won the award during the 2007-08 season.
Johnson helped the Spurs win 62 games during the regular season. San Antonio is the second seed in the 2026 Western Conference playoffs.
The Spurs selected Johnson with the 29th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Kentucky. Johnson is the longest tenured player on the team.
Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama, who won the 2025-26 Defensive Player of the Year Award, told ESPN that Johnson “deserves to be the Sixth Man of the Year.”
“He has sacrificed more than anybody on this team in my opinion in terms of stats and playing time and has outshone everybody on the team because he’s the soul of this team,” Wembanyama said. “He brings energy, no matter what time of the day. He deserves to be the Sixth Man of the Year.”
Johnson holds career averages of 15.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. The swingman signed a four-year, $74 million extension with the Spurs in 2022. He’ll make $17.5 million next season in the final year of his contract.
