DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks will host LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers on Presidents’ Day as part of an NBC quadrupleheader.
Dallas and Philadelphia are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CT on Monday, Feb. 15, at American Airlines Center. NBC will carry the game with a simulcast on Peacock.
The matchup brings a rebuilt Philadelphia roster to Dallas.
LeBron James signed with the 76ers on July 24 on a two-year deal worth roughly $8 million with a player option. He will make $3,876,529 in 2026-27 under the veteran minimum exception. He enters his 24th NBA season.
LeBron James Joins New-Look Philadelphia 76ers
Philadelphia had already made a major move before adding James.
The 76ers acquired Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics earlier in the offseason. Brown and James join Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey on a roster with four players who have earned at least one All-NBA selection.
Nick Nurse remains Philadelphia’s head coach. The 76ers fired president of basketball operations Daryl Morey in May.
Dallas will get its first home look at that group in a standalone afternoon window on Presidents’ Day.
NBC Sets Four Games For Presidents’ Day
The Presidents’ Day schedule begins at 11 a.m. CT when the Minnesota Timberwolves visit the Charlotte Hornets on NBC and Peacock.
That game sends LaMelo Ball back to Charlotte. Minnesota acquired Ball and Josh Green from the Hornets in July as part of a four-team trade. Charlotte received Naz Reid, an unprotected 2033 first-round pick, first-round swaps in 2028, 2029, and 2030, and second-round picks in 2029, 2032, and 2033.
Dallas and Philadelphia follow at 1:30 p.m. CT.
The San Antonio Spurs visit the Miami Heat at 4 p.m. CT on NBC and Peacock. The Indiana Pacers close the day against the Golden State Warriors at 6:30 p.m. CT on Peacock and NBCSN.
Cooper Flagg Enters Second Season With Dallas Mavericks
The Mavericks will enter the season with Cooper Flagg coming off a Rookie of the Year season. Flagg averaged 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 70 games. He also averaged 1.2 steals and 0.9 blocks.
His biggest scoring night came April 4 against the Orlando Magic. Flagg scored 51 points with 6 rebounds and 3 assists, making 13 of his 21 attempts inside the arc and going 6-of-9 from three.
Dallas still finished 26-56 and missed the playoffs for the second straight season.
Flagg, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, will now enter his second year as one of the pieces at the center of a reworked roster.
Kyrie Irving also could be back after missing the entire 2025-26 season while recovering from the ACL tear he suffered in March 2025.
Dallas Mavericks Made Major Changes During Offseason
Dallas changed both its front office and coaching staff after the season.
The Mavericks hired Masai Ujiri to lead basketball operations and replaced Jason Kidd with Dusty May, who coached Michigan to the 2026 national championship.
The roster changed around Flagg as well.
Dallas added Santi Aldama, Marcus Sasser, and Tarik Biberovic in a six-team trade. The Mavericks also acquired Zaccharie Risacher in the deal that sent Luguentz Dort from Oklahoma City to Atlanta.
Dallas used the ninth pick in the draft on Morez Johnson Jr., who played for May at Michigan.
The Presidents’ Day matchup is one of the first marquee dates announced for Dallas before the full 82-game schedule is released Thursday at 2 p.m. CT. The 2026-27 regular season begins Oct. 20.
