Voch Lombardi said on the “Doin’ Alright” podcast that the Dallas Cowboys are not interested in Von Miller and that neither Miller nor Bobby Wagner is “up to snuff” for the team. Both veterans remain unsigned free agents in August.

DALLAS — While the Dallas Cowboys have been involved in a lot of chatter lately regarding potential roster splashes, that doesn’t mean they’re interested in just anybody.

According to Voch Lombardi of the “Doin’ Alright” podcast, it doesn’t appear that NFL veterans Von Miller and Bobby Wagner, who are both free agents, are “up to snuff” for the Cowboys.

“Bryan [Broaddus] does a lot of legwork on these rumors,” Lombardi said. “I do a fair little bit as well. And it seems like the Cowboys aren’t interested in Von Miller specifically. … According to Bryan, according to some of the people that I’ve talked to, guys like Von Miller and Bobby Wagner aren’t up to snuff, you know what I’m saying? If you ask the Cowboys, I mean, yeah, they got the names that you like, but I think that they’re looking for bigger caliber players.”

Von Miller And Bobby Wagner Remain Unsigned

Miller and Wagner have both had Hall of Fame careers in the NFL, but they are getting older, which may scare the Cowboys. Still, Wagner was an All-Pro as recently as the 2024 season and remained productive in the 2025 campaign, and Miller certainly made an impact with 9.0 sacks last season.

If that isn’t enough to appeal to the Cowboys, they may be in search of a truly game-changing splash on the defensive side of the ball.

Maxx Crosby Remains The Bigger Swing?

Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby would certainly qualify as a massive addition, and there has been smoke connecting him to Dallas. But it’s a safe bet that acquiring him would come at a major cost, as the 28-year-old has become a perennial Pro Bowler and 10+ sack machine.

As it stands, expectations are mixed going into the 2026 season for the Cowboys, as some projections have them as a fringe playoff contender. If the organization wants to improve its chances, a big move to bring in some immediate roster help would certainly go a long way.
