ARLINGTON, Texas — Thursday night’s game between the Dallas Wings and New York Liberty has been postponed after mechanical issues delayed the Liberty’s charter flight into North Texas, the Wings announced.
Tip-off was originally scheduled for 8 p.m. CT at College Park Center. The game has been rescheduled for Monday, July 20, with tip-off now set for 7 p.m. CT at the same venue. The Wings will honor all tickets purchased for Thursday’s original date.
Tickets, Broadcast Details for Monday
No action is required from fans who already purchased tickets for Thursday’s game. Those tickets will be valid for Monday’s makeup date at College Park Center.
Broadcast plans for the rescheduled game had not been announced as of Thursday evening. Thursday’s postponed game had been set to air nationally on Prime, with Michael Grady on play-by-play, Cynthia Cooper as analyst, and Kayla Gray on the sideline.
Reschedule Creates Three Games in Four Nights for Dallas
The move to Monday also puts Dallas into a back-to-back — its first of the season — and turns the stretch into three games in four nights. The Wings host the Los Angeles Sparks at noon CT on Sunday, July 19, at College Park Center before hosting New York the following night.
Dallas then closes out its schedule heading into the All-Star break on the road against the Portland Fire on Wednesday, July 22, at Moda Center.
Dallas Wings Enter Makeup Date on 5-Game Win Streak
The postponement delays a chance for Dallas (16-8) to complete a season sweep of New York (13-11). The Wings already lead the season series, 2-0, with a 91-76 road win on May 24 and an 88-77 win in Brooklyn on July 7 that included a 22-12-11 triple-double from Jessica Shepard, her third of the season. A win Monday would give Dallas its first regular-season sweep of the Liberty since 2020.
Dallas enters the rescheduled game as winners of 5 straight, most recently a 96-91 victory over the Chicago Sky on July 13 at American Airlines Center. Paige Bueckers recorded her fourth career double-double in that win, finishing with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 11 assists. Bueckers was named WNBA Western Conference Player of the Week on July 14 for games played July 2-12, the first such honor of her career.
New York enters Monday off a 93-91 road loss to the Toronto Tempo on Sunday. Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu combined for 50 of the Liberty’s 91 points in that loss, with Ionescu scoring 28 and Stewart adding 22.
Monday’s game will be the third meeting between the two teams this season and Dallas’s first home matchup with New York in 2026.
