Kyrie Irving, Santi Aldama, Max Christie Off Dallas Mavericks Injury Report vs. Brooklyn Nets

DALLAS — Kyrie Irving, Santi Aldama, and Max Christie are off the Dallas Mavericks’ injury report for Sunday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets at American Airlines Center. All three were listed as probable for Friday’s 112-100 win over the Utah Jazz.
Dallas ruled out Tarik Biberović (right heel bursitis), Sergio De Larrea (right knee sprain), and Dereck Lively II (right foot surgery). Caleb Martin is again listed as available with a right thumb sprain, the same designation he has carried in every game since his Oct. 28 season debut.
The Mavericks are 5-4 and 2-0 in NBA Cup group play. Brooklyn plays at the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night and will be on the second night of a back-to-back in Dallas.
Kyrie Irving, Santi Aldama, And Max Christie Cleared
Irving missed Friday’s morning shootaround with an illness and was listed as probable. He went 1-of-9 from the field in the first half, then scored 12 of his 14 points after halftime on 6-of-11 shooting. Through seven games in his return from the torn left ACL he suffered March 3, 2025, he is averaging 21.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.
Aldama made his Mavericks debut Friday in his first game since Feb. 4. He had an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee March 17, while he was still with the Memphis Grizzlies. Against Utah, he had 8 points and 9 rebounds, 4 of them offensive, in 13 minutes, 3 seconds, and Dallas was plus-17 with him on the floor. Mavericks coach Dusty May said that at shootaround Friday, everything looked a little better with Aldama out there because he is such a good cutter.
“He’s such a good decision maker,” May said. “He stretches the defense with the spacing, so he’s just one of those guys that he’s an elite connector, but he’s also a good decision maker with the ball in his hands. And I thought he guarded well tonight, in addition to that.”
Christie sat out Wednesday’s 112-111 loss at San Antonio and was probable Friday with right hip soreness. After starting all seven games he had played this season, he came off the bench against Utah and had 1 rebound and 1 assist in 8 minutes, 34 seconds.
Martin has started two of the five games he has played since returning, including Friday, when he went scoreless in 11 minutes, 24 seconds. He is averaging 4.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in 18.2 minutes while shooting 8-of-15 from the field and 5-of-10 from 3-point range.
Tarik Biberović, Sergio De Larrea, And Dereck Lively II Remain Out
Biberović is still waiting on his NBA debut, and Sunday will be the 10th straight game he has missed to open the season. His last game action came off the bench in the Oct. 11 preseason win over the Houston Rockets in Macao. Before Dallas hosted Houston on Oct. 30, May said Biberović was “getting very close” to returning, though not as close as Aldama, who debuted a week later. Biberović signed with the Mavericks on July 10.
De Larrea will miss his sixth straight game. He hurt the knee early in the second quarter Oct. 26 at Miami when he fell trying to catch an inbound pass, and he finished scoreless in 5 minutes, 40 seconds. Two days earlier, with Cooper Flagg and Irving both out, he scored 21 points with 5 rebounds and 4 assists in 33 minutes against the San Antonio Spurs. In four games, he is averaging 5.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 11.5 minutes.
Lively has not played since Nov. 21, 2025, and Sunday will be his 10th straight absence this season. He appeared in seven games last season and averaged 4.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists before season-ending surgery that December, the third operation on his right foot within a calendar year. As a rookie in 2023-24, he played 55 games and averaged 8.8 points and 6.9 rebounds.
Brooklyn is 2-6 under Nets coach Jordi Fernández and beat Charlotte 114-104 on Wednesday for its first home win of the season. Sunday is the second stop on a four-game road trip that continues at New Orleans and Memphis. Through eight games, Michael Porter Jr. leads the Nets with 21.4 points per game and adds 7.4 rebounds, and Julius Randle is averaging 21.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.
Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. CT at American Airlines Center, and the game airs locally on KFAA and MavsTV. Dallas stays home to host the Indiana Pacers on Monday, the back end of its own back-to-back.
