Dallas Cowboys Sign Running Back Jashaun Corbin, Waive Dominic Richardson

OXNARD, Calif. — The Dallas Cowboys signed running back Jashaun Corbin and waived rookie running back Dominic Richardson, the team announced Friday.

Corbin spent the spring with the Orlando Storm of the UFL. In 10 games, he carried 131 times for 437 yards and 3 touchdowns. He caught 21 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. Nine of those appearances were starts.

Orlando used him on kickoffs as well. Corbin returned 12 kicks for 321 yards in the regular season, with a long of 45. The Storm’s season ended June 7 in a 28-22 loss to the DC Defenders, and Corbin ran 5 times for 24 yards in that game.

Jashaun Corbin’s Path Back to the NFL

A year earlier, Corbin led the UFL in rushing. He ran for 514 yards on 97 carries with the San Antonio Brahmas in 2025, scoring 4 touchdowns in 10 games. He added 18 catches for 138 yards that season and was named to the All-UFL team.

Corbin signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State in 2022. He played in 6 games for New York in 2023. His NFL statistics consist of 1 carry for 1 yard and 3 receptions for 12 yards. Most of his snaps came on special teams. He played 118 of them that season, 65% of the Giants’ special teams total.

New York waived him with an injury designation in August 2024. Corbin signed with San Antonio that October. The Atlanta Falcons signed him in June 2025. Atlanta waived him at the end of training camp, and he had carried 18 times for 59 yards in three preseason games. The New England Patriots added him to their practice squad in October. They released him after nearly three months, and he was never elevated to the active roster.

Corbin turns 26 on Aug. 20. He is listed at 5-11 and 215 pounds.

Dominic Richardson’s Four Months in Dallas

Richardson signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent on April 25, hours after the 2026 draft ended. He never appeared in a regular-season game for Dallas.

Six seasons of college football preceded that. Richardson spent three years at Oklahoma State, two at Baylor, and one at Tulsa. Last fall with the Golden Hurricane, he ran 212 times for 1,065 yards and 5 touchdowns, and he caught 20 passes for 130 yards. In January, Richardson scored the winning touchdown in the 101st East-West Shrine Bowl, played at the Ford Center in Frisco, the Cowboys’ practice facility.

Dallas now carries six running backs on the 90-man roster. Javonte Williams is the starter. He re-signed on a three-year, $24 million deal in February. Williams ran 252 times for 1,201 yards and 11 touchdowns in 16 games last season. Jaydon Blue, Phil Mafah, Malik Davis, and Israel Abanikanda are also in the room. Hunter Luepke is the fullback.

The Cowboys practice through Aug. 13 before heading back to Frisco. A scrimmage with the Los Angeles Rams comes Aug. 11 in Woodland Hills. Dallas opens the preseason Saturday at Lumen Field against the Seattle Seahawks. Kickoff is 7 p.m. CT. NFL Network has the national broadcast, with CBS Texas carrying it locally.
