FRISCO, Texas — Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is listed as a starter on the Dallas Cowboys’ unofficial depth chart for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, which the team released Tuesday. Overshown missed Sunday’s 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders with a strained hamstring.
Safety Malik Hooker is listed as a co-starter with P.J. Locke, and cornerback Cobie Durant is listed as a co-starter with Shavon Revel Jr.. Both spots carry an “or” between the two names.
Hooker has not played since fracturing his forearm in the 28-20 loss to the New York Giants on Sept. 13. Locke tore the plantar fascia in his foot on a third down during Washington’s opening drive Sunday. Durant strained his hamstring in the final sequence of the first half, with the Commanders driving near the Dallas goal line.
Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Monday at The Star that Durant and Locke could each miss a few weeks. The team has not decided whether to place Locke on injured reserve, which would keep him out at least four games.
The Cowboys practice through Thursday and fly to Rio de Janeiro that night. Kickoff at Maracanã Stadium is 3:25 p.m. CT Sunday on CBS, with Dallas as the designated home team. Both teams are 1-1.
DeMarvion Overshown, Malik Hooker Still Working Back For Dallas Cowboys
Overshown and Hooker were both still in the rehab group Monday, eight days after they got hurt at MetLife Stadium. Overshown made 7 tackles in the opener before the hamstring injury. Hooker had surgery on his forearm two days after the game.
Overshown has made good progress, Schottenheimer said, and Hooker is continuing his rehab.
“Got to get through the week,” Schottenheimer said. “It could be tough just because it’s a shorter week for us, but I’m not saying no.”
Second-year linebacker Shemar James is listed behind Overshown. Rookie Jaishawn Barham started in Overshown’s place against Washington and wore the green dot, and he is listed behind Dee Winters at the other inside linebacker spot this week.
Barham had 7 tackles Sunday. With Dallas ahead 20-13 in the third quarter, he forced a fumble that Winters recovered, and Dak Prescott threw a touchdown pass after the turnover to make it 27-13. Winters led the Cowboys with 9 tackles.
Markquese Bell, Shavon Revel Jr. Next In Line On Dallas Cowboys Depth Chart
Revel replaced Durant for the second half Sunday. Markquese Bell took Locke’s snaps at safety, and he is listed second behind Jalen Thompson at the other safety spot, with Alijah Clark third. Ameer Speed is listed third behind Durant and Revel.
The Hooker-Locke “or” has been on all three of the Cowboys’ regular-season depth charts. Rookie Caleb Downs, the 11th overall pick in April, is listed at the nickel defensive back spot and second at punt returner behind KaVontae Turpin.
On offense, T.J. Bass is listed at left guard with Tyler Smith on injured reserve after thumb surgery. Smith’s earliest possible return is Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, Oct. 8. Tyler Guyton is the starting left tackle, with rookie Drew Shelton behind him, and Broderick Jones is listed behind Terence Steele at right tackle.
Baltimore beat the Indianapolis Colts 41-23 in Week 1 and lost 24-17 to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
