The Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves tried to trade for Kawhi Leonard, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. The LA Clippers wound up trading Leonard back to the Toronto Raptors.
The Clippers are trading Kawhi Leonard to the Raptors for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two unprotected first-round picks, one first-round pick swap and two second-round picks.
Once the Toronto Raptors officially acquire Kawhi Leonard from the LA Clippers, they are expected to sign the All-Star forward to an extension, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
The Raptors’ deal for Leonard had been delayed while the NBA investigated the Clippers, but Shams Charania says the trade is now expected to be finalized within days.
